Dr. Jon DeGorter has treated many professional and amateur athletes of almost every sport. His interest in sports rehabilitation and recovery has prepared him to work with all types of athletes such as triathletes, marathoners, swimmers, cyclists, ice skaters, hockey players, body builders and weekend warriors. A Long Island native, Dr. DeGorter graduated from Life University with honors in 2012. During his time there, he studied Diversified, Activator and Thompson Technique. He was also a player on the Life Hockey team, which gave him the opportunity to work on many teammates, as well as players on the Life Rugby team. Dr. DeGorter grew up playing almost every sport and knows many of the mechanics that go into each sport, giving him the knowledge to treat a wide range of injuries. While he believes the spine can be the root of many problems, extremity and other nerve entrapments can also hinder an athlete’s performance and thus must be worked on to reach optimal performance. Dr. DeGorter is certified in Active Release Technique (ART), Graston Technique and KinesioTape.
